Structural Warranty (5 Years)
Top Galvanised Trailer (“we”, “us”, “our”) warrants that all trailers we manufacture or assemble are free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use for a period of five (5) years from the original date of purchase by the original owner, subject to the conditions listed below.
This warranty covers the trailer frame and associated components, including but not limited to the trailer body, floor, drawbar, door frame, and safety chains.
*Camper trailers are covered by a one (1) year warranty from the original date of purchase.
Warranty Conditions
- Obligations:
Where a defect in materials or workmanship is confirmed by us, we will repair or replace the defective part at no cost to the original purchaser for parts and labour. - Claim Procedure:
Warranty claims must be made directly with the selling distributor or authorised branch. The trailer must be returned to the original place of purchase for inspection. Transport and delivery costs to and from the service location are the responsibility of the purchaser. - Servicing Requirements:
- Ongoing servicing must be completed every twelve (12) months or every 1,000kms (whichever occurs first).
- All services must be performed by Top Galvanised Trailer P/L or a qualified trailer service centre.
- A full record of services must be retained and presented for any warranty claims.
- Wheel nuts must be checked every 50–100kms.
If damage or failure occurs as a result of not servicing or maintaining the trailer properly, the warranty will be voided.
- Maintenance Obligations:
Before each use, the owner must inspect tyres, nuts, bolts, moving components, safety chains, lights, and the overall trailer condition for any damage, leaks, or abnormal noises. Failure to maintain the trailer may void the warranty.
Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
- Surface rust resulting from normal wear and tear, exposure to elements, or neglect.
- Damage resulting from accidents, misuse, overloading, neglect, abuse, or acts of nature (e.g., storms, floods).
- Unauthorised modifications or repairs.
- Accessories and components not manufactured by Top Galvanised Trailer, including but not limited to hydraulic hoists, axles, brakes, lights, winches, tyres, and wheels (these are covered by the component manufacturer’s warranty).
- Damage resulting from continued use after a defect becomes apparent.
- Freight, transport, or travel costs associated with repairs.
- Consequential or incidental damages.
Note: All broken or faulty parts subject to a warranty claim must be returned to Top Galvanised Trailer for inspection prior to replacement being supplied. Replacement parts will not be provided unless the defective parts are returned first.
Additional Terms for Interstate Warranty Claims
For customers who purchase a trailer and tow it to a state outside of Victoria, the following warranty conditions apply:
- Pre-Approval Required:
Any warranty-related repairs carried out outside of Victoria must receive prior written approval from Top Galvanised Trailer.- Customers must not proceed with any repairs or servicing before receiving this approval.
- If a customer proceeds with repair work without our confirmation, any associated costs will not be covered under warranty.
- Written Claim Submission:
Warranty claims must be submitted in writing and include:- A detailed description of the issue or damage.
- Clear photographic evidence of the affected area.
- Proof of purchase and trailer identification (VIN or chassis number).
- Assessment and Cost Estimation:
Upon receiving the above, Top Galvanised Trailer will:- Assess the claim.
- Determine whether the issue is covered under the warranty.
- Provide a written estimate of the repair costs and advise an approved repairer or repair process.
- Unauthorised Repairs Will Not Be Reimbursed:
Customers are not permitted to take the trailer to a repairer of their choice and submit a bill for reimbursement without prior authorisation. Any such expenses will be the sole responsibility of the customer.
Compliance with Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
This warranty provides benefits in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Return Policy
Non-refundable items:
- Custom-made items (manufactured or ordered to specific customer requirements)
- Registration fees
- Payment surcharges or processing fees for card payments (Visa, Mastercard, Amex incur 1.7% surcharge in-person; 2.3% online; PayPal incurs 2.5%)
For all trailer purchases, we do not accept change of mind refunds and returns after the trailer has been collected or delivered, regardless of its registration status. This policy applies to all items on the invoice.
Trailer Collection & Storage Policy
Trailer must be collected within 7 days of notification. Failure to collect within this period may result in storage fees being incurred.
